Mac’s Local Eats Restaurant and Retail Market is a small, family-owned business founded on the desire to help St. Louis area families eat more healthy, nutrient-dense foods. Now more than ever it’s so important to know where your food comes from, but we understand that doing all of the research and sourcing can be quite overwhelming. This is the heart of what we do.

My wife and I are firm believers that gathering around the table and sharing a meal is one of life’s greatest gifts. Through our love of food, we learned that the food on that table should be seasonal, clean, nutrient dense, and not to mention DELICIOUS. Finding these foods at a price that was affordable for our family is what inspired our first whole animal buy. Soon we had more and more friends wanting to join in. Little did we know, after that first buy, that a few years later we would be working directly with farmers to source premium pastured meats for families and restaurants in the St. Louis metropolitan area but that is exactly what happened!

Local doesn’t mean good, it just means close.

We take a lot of pride not just in sourcing the best proteins and produce our local region has to offer, but truly understanding what differentiates one local producer from another. We focus on sourcing animals from local farmers who are stewards of the land and believe in raising animals in humane conditions where they are allowed to engage in their instinctive biological behaviors. Our farmers believe that unnecessary toxins are just that... unnecessary.

Mac’s Local Buys makes purchasing local, premium proteins for your family affordable either through our animal shares, food subscriptions or purchases at our retail market or at our restaurant, Mac’s Local Eats. In the end Mac's Local Buys, is just what is was in the beginning - a group of folks, working together with a common purpose, to eat healthier foods, while supporting our local community.
